A Legacy of Faithfulness and Desire for Christian Education

Pastor Mike Belcher faithfully served as the Pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church (2000-2025) and the Administrator of Lakeview Christian School (2003-2025). Shortly after being named Pastor, God placed a desire in his heart to establish a school where children in and around Pickens could receive an excellent education firmly rooted in the truth of God's Word. In 2003, Lakeview Christian School was established.

With a background in teaching, he understood that education was about far more than academics. He believed that every child was created in the image of God and needed an environment where they could not only grow intellectually, but spiritually. While he was committed to academic excellence, his greatest passion was seeing every student hear the Gospel and come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

He was passionate about preparing young people not only for graduation but for life. He encouraged students to pursue excellence in their studies, develop strong Christian character, and use their God-given talents in whatever career the Lord called them to. He believed that an education founded on God's Word would prepare students to faithfully serve the Lord, live with integrity, and make a meaningful difference in their homes, churches, careers, and communities.

As pastor, he faithfully preached the Gospel, shepherded his congregation, and demonstrated Christ's love through his service. As an educator and administrator, he invested countless hours in building a school that would impact generations of families. His leadership was marked by conviction, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to Biblical truth.

Today, his legacy continues to be seen in the lives of those he pastored, the students he influenced, and the families whose lives were forever changed through the ministry of Lakeview Baptist Church and Lakeview Christian School. His vision was never simply to build a school—it was to build lives upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

His life reminds us that true success is not measured by earthly accomplishments, but by faithfully serving the Lord. The seeds he planted through his ministry and commitment to Christian education continue to bear fruit, and his influence will be felt for years to come. We thank God for his faithfulness, his vision, and his enduring legacy.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to carrying forward the vision that God placed on his heart. Christian education continues to play a vital role in shaping young lives by providing a strong academic foundation while pointing students to the truth of God's Word. It is our prayer that Lakeview Christian School will continue to be a place where students are challenged to pursue excellence, grow in their faith, and develop a biblical worldview that prepares them to serve Christ faithfully in their homes, churches, communities, and future careers. By God's grace, we will strive to build upon the legacy he established, ensuring that generations to come have the opportunity to receive a Christ-centered education and hear the life-changing message of the Gospel.
